August was born on November 4th, 1887 in Mercer County, North Dakota, USA.1  August's father was Christian Leberecht Sprecher and his mother was Anna Justina Hintz (Sprecher).  His paternal grandparents were Friedrich Jon “Fred” Sprecher and Louise “Christine” Gruning (Sprecher) Grunning. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, Daniel, Emil, Katharina, Magdalena and Paulina.  He was the youngest of the seven children. He had two half-sisters named Emilia and Ottilia.  He died at the age of 91 in 1978 in Bridgman, Berrien County, Michigan, USA.1

August and Elizabeth were married in a religious & civil ceremony in 1909 in North Dakota, USA.1 


August's second family

August and Mary were married in a religious & civil ceremony after 1961.1
