John Robertson

John was born in 1822 in Newton-on-Ayr.¹ John's father was George Robertson and his mother was Martha McGloughlane. His paternal grandparents were William Robertson and Elspeth Thomson. He had a brother and eight sisters, named William, Margaret, Martha, Mary, Agnes, Euphemia, Jane, Charlotte and Catherine. He was the oldest of the ten children.
