George Robertson 
George was born on September 25th, 1804 in Newton-on-Ayr and his baptism took place there on October 6th, 1804.1 George's father was William Robertson and his mother was Elspeth Thomson. His paternal grandparents were George Robertson and Mary Cochran; his maternal grandparents were Robert Thomson and Janet Shipherd. He had four brothers and a sister, named John, Thomas, James, William and Janet. He was the third oldest of the six children. He died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia, Chronic Bronchitis, longstanding, at the age of 66 on December 9th, 1870 in Kilwinning.2 -
