Alice's father was Archibald Hewitt and her mother was Janet White Robertson. Her maternal grandparents were David Robertson and Mary Eaglesome Smith Frew. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Alexander, James, Archibald, William, Jennie, Mary, Maggie and Dora. She was the youngest of the nine children. She died at the age of 75 on November 28th, 1978 in Schenectady. The funeral took place on December 1st, 1978 in Schenectady. She was buried in Schenectady.³¹
