Mary Jane BROWN

Mary Jane was born in 1830 in Whitby, North Yorkshire, England.¹ Mary Jane's father was Joseph BROWN and her mother was Eleanor STAINTHORP. Her paternal grandparents were William BROWN and Ann HUMBLE; her maternal grandparents were Francis STAINTHORP and Lucy SMITH. She had six brothers and three sisters, named William, Joseph, Henry, George, Robert, John, Eleanor, Lucy and Francis. She was the youngest of the ten children.¹
