Francis BROWN

Francis was born in 1828 in Whitby, North Yorkshire, England.¹ Francis' father was Joseph BROWN and her mother was Eleanor STAINTHORP. Her paternal grandparents were William BROWN and Ann HUMBLE; her maternal grandparents were Francis STAINTHORP and Lucy SMITH. She had six brothers and three sisters, named William, Joseph, Henry, George, Robert, John, Eleanor, Lucy and Mary Jane. She was the nineth oldest of the ten children.¹
