Benjamin was born in 1784 and his baptism took place on July 17th, 1784 in St. Annes Walthamstow, Essex.1  Benjamin's father was William Goad and his mother was Darling Thomas.  His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Goad and Mary Skirrow; his maternal grandparents were John Thomas and Elizabeth Ebbery. He had four brothers and three sisters, named William, Samuel, John, George, Mary, Emma and Anna.  He was the fifth oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 50 in February 1834.
