Emma was born on November 13th, 1781 and her baptism took place on April 13th, 1781 in Saint James Garlickhithe, London.1  Emma's father was William Goad and her mother was Darling Thomas.  Her paternal grandparents were Benjamin Goad and Mary Skirrow; her maternal grandparents were John Thomas and Elizabeth Ebbery. She had five brothers and two sisters, named William, Samuel, Benjamin, John, George, Mary and Anna.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 59 on July 3rd, 1841 in Southgate.2

Emma and John were married in 1824 in Edmonton Middlesex.3
