George was born in 1792 and his baptism took place on March 14th, 1792 in St Thomas Apostle, London.1  George's father was William Goad and his mother was Darling Thomas.  His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Goad and Mary Skirrow; his maternal grandparents were John Thomas and Elizabeth Ebbery. He had four brothers and three sisters, named William, Samuel, Benjamin, John, Mary, Emma and Anna.  He was the youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 58 in 1850.
