Anna was born in 1786 and her baptism took place on January 27th, 1786 in St Thomas Apostle, London,.1  Anna's father was William Goad and her mother was Darling Thomas.  Her paternal grandparents were Benjamin Goad and Mary Skirrow; her maternal grandparents were John Thomas and Elizabeth Ebbery. She had five brothers and two sisters, named William, Samuel, Benjamin, John, George, Mary and Emma.  She was the sixth oldest of the eight children.
