George Gilbert Lilburn

George was born on May 10th, 1885 in Victoria and his baptism took place in Christ Church, Hawthorn, Victoria.¹ George's father was Peter Paterson Lilburn and his mother was Amy Turner. His maternal grandparents were John Browning Turner and Jane Atkins. He had five brothers and three sisters, named David, Peter , Herbert, Thomas, Alfred, Rachael, Amy and Adelaide. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 75 in 1960 in Melbourne.¹

  Nickname "Tom". A very bright baby. During vaccination, he was cross-vaccinated with an unhealthy child. Developed with one leg shorter than the other. Always wore an iron in his boot, eventually hip developed arthritis.
  Died suddenly in the train on his way from Tooronga to the city.
