John Browning Turner

John was born in 1818 in Fishbourne,West Sussex, England.¹ John's father was Turner. He was an only child. He died at the age of 37 on August 18th, 1855 in Mt. Pleasant, South Australia.¹

  Arrived in Australia on the Eden, 24-6-1838 with his brothers Henry age 21 and William age 17 .Henry Watson was employed by John Barton Hack to recruit people from the Chichester area to come to S.A.
  
  John and William were married in a double wedding. William's wife was Amelia Goble. Henry was a witness at both weddings.
  The barque Eden, 523 ton, under Captain W. Cook sailed from Portsmouth Feb. 26 1838 and arrived in Adelaide on June 24th. with 225 passengers.
  The 1841 census lists John and Jane living in Halifax St. no children.
