Francis Burton 
Francis was born in 1560 in New Castle, York, London, England.1 Francis' father was Edward Burton and his mother was Ann Madocks. His paternal grandparents were John Burton and Elizabeth Poyner; his maternal grandparents were Nicholas Maddocks and Madocks. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Humphrey, Timothy, Captain Francis, Thomas, Dorothy, Mary, Dorothy, Catherine and Francis. He was the youngest of the eleven children.
