Dorothy Burton

Dorothy was born in 1552 in Longnor, Shropshire, England.¹ Dorothy's father was Edward Burton and her mother was Ann Madocks. Her paternal grandparents were John Burton and Elizabeth Poyner; her maternal grandparents were Nicholas Maddocks and Madocks. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Humphrey, Timothy, Captain Francis, Thomas, Francis, Dorothy, Mary, Catherine and Francis. She was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.
