Maud was born in , Dublin, Dublin, Ireland.1   Maud's father was Gilbert De Lacy and her mother was Isabel Bigod.  Her paternal grandparents were Walter de Lacy , Lord of Meath 2nd and Margaret de Braose; her maternal grandparents were Hugh Earl Of Norfolk Bigod and Maude Marshall , Countess Of Norfolk. She had a brother and a sister, named Walter De and Margery De. She had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named John, Richard, Isabel, Lady Maud, Aveline, Aveline Fitz and Joan.  She died on April 11th, 1304.

‌Maud and Geoffrey were married in a religious ceremony before August 8th, 1252.  They had three sons and a daughter, named Piers, Simon De, Pierre (the younger) and Joan.
