Roger "The Good" 5th Earl was born in 1116 in Tunbridge Castle,Kent,England.1   Roger "The Good" 5th Earl's father was Richard de Clare , 1st Earl of Hertford ' and his mother was Adeliza de Guernons Countess de Meschines.  His paternal grandparents were Gilbert  2nd Earl De Clare and Adeliza (Alice) de Clermont; his maternal grandparents were Ranulph III de Meschines 3rd Earl of Chester, Viscount Bayeux and Countess Lucia Taillebois Countess of Chester. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Gilbert , 2nd Earl of Hertford, Walter, Baldwin, Hervey, Rohesa, Adeliza (Alice), Margaret and Adles '.  He died at the age of 57 in 1173 in Oxfordshire,England.  He was buried in Eynsham Priory,Oxon,England.1
