His paternal grandparents were John Plantagenet of Gaunt and Blanche Plantagenet of Lancaster; his maternal grandparents were Humphrey IX de Bohun and Joan Fitzalan of Arundel. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Edward, Henry V Plantagenet of, Thomas Plantagenet of, Humphrey Plantagenet of, Blanche and Philippa. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He had a half-brother named Edmund. He died at the age of 46 on September 15th, 1435 in Joyeux Repos, Rouen, Normandy, France.-
