Alma Gibson was born on November 7th, 1865 in 1938.1 Alma Gibson's father was Tillaman Peurifoy Burgamy and her mother was Sarah Medora Fonville. Her paternal grandparents were John Burgamy and Martha Davis Peurifoy; her maternal grandparents are John Averette Fonville and Rachel Sloan. She was the author of the article on the Peurifoy Family that first appe
ar ed in the July 17, 1932 issue of THE SUNDAY AMERICAN, Atlanta, Georgia.
