Martha Davis was born on November 22nd, 1814 in Putnam County, Georgia.1 Martha Davis' father was William Peurifoy and her mother was Mary Brothers. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas, Sr. Purifoy and UNKNOWN Sallie. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Archibald, Tillman, McCarroll, Stanley, Piercy, Sidney B. and Frances. She was the youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 42 on April 16th, 1857 in Griffin, Georgia.1 -
