Thomas Nicholas, Jr. Purifoy 
Thomas Nicholas, Jr. was born about 1679 in Virginia.1 Thomas Nicholas, Jr.'s father was Thomas Nicholas, Sr. Purifoy and his mother was Judith Searies. His paternal grandparents were Thomas, Jr. Purifoy and UNKNOWN Unknown. He had two brothers and three sisters, named David, John, India, Mary and Sarah. He died about 1770 in Craven County, North Carolina.1 General Notes

He was persecuted for his religious belief and helped to establish relig

ealogi cal Register," Volume 2, No. 2, Page 198, gives the petition of t
he Bapti st brethren to build a house of worship in Newbern. The Rev. Nic
holas Pur ifoy's name is signed to this petition.
