William Alonzo (Bill) Basham 
William Alonzo (Bill) was born on March 30th, 1903 in Bellville, Republic Co., Kansas.1 William Alonzo (Bill)'s father was William Edward Basham and his mother was Cora Bell Powers. His paternal grandparents were Nathan Basham and Anna Miller; his maternal grandfather was Alonzo Powers and his maternal grandmother is Mary Nelson. He had seven brothers and a sister, named Harry Edward, Alton Wesley (Pat), Floyd Mason (Dutch), Richard Alvin (Dick), Clyde Clelles (Slim), Ralph Nathan (Red), Harold 'Lester' and Mary Valentine. He was the third youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 74 on March 12th, 1978 in Bonners Ferry, Boundary Co., Idaho.1 General Notes

et ired. He also worked on the WPA operating a caterpillar when the gover
nme nt built the highway between Libby and Kalispell. He also was a rod
eo rid er and a cowboy around the Hot Springs, Montana area. He had a st
ro ke in 1968 and had almost recovered when he got deterioration of the b
ra in cells. So he lived until it hit the motor part of his brai
