Clyde Clelles (Slim) was born on February 15th, 1901 in Bellville, Republic Co., Kansas.1 Clyde Clelles (Slim)'s father was William Edward Basham and his mother was Cora Bell Powers. His paternal grandparents were Nathan Basham and Anna Miller; his maternal grandfather was Alonzo Powers and his maternal grandmother is Mary Nelson. He had seven brothers and a sister, named Harry Edward, Alton Wesley (Pat), Floyd Mason (Dutch), Richard Alvin (Dick), William Alonzo (Bill), Ralph Nathan (Red), Harold 'Lester' and Mary Valentine. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 87 on June 7th, 1988 in Libby, Lincoln Co., Montana.1 General Notes
