Edward Otis Basham 
Edward Otis was born on May 11th, 1896 in Duke, Hancock Co., Kentucky.1 Edward Otis' father was Jeremiah Henderson Basham and his mother was Sarah Ellen Higgs. His paternal grandparents were Cary Jackson 'Jack' Basham and Annis Warner; his maternal grandparents were Alfred Higgs and Sarah Jane Calloway. He had ten brothers and six sisters, named Finous, Harvey, Hilous, Benjamin Harrison (Ben), Eugene C (Gene), Eulace, Ruthford, Flora, Chester, Harold, Bertha S., Pearl, Carrie, Essie, Anna Lee and Clara Louise. He was the eighth youngest of the seventeen children. He had a half-sister named Mary Jane. He died at the age of 70 on January 27th, 1967 in Hancock Co., Kentucky.1 General Notes
