William "The Elder", known as the Elder, was born about 1062 in Normandy, France.  The Elder's father was King William The Conqueror and his mother was Maud de Peverel.  His paternal grandparents were Duke Robert III (The Devil) Normandy and Herleva de Falaise. He had five half-brothers and eight half-sisters, named Henry I, Henry I, Henry I, Henry I "Beauclerc", Henry I, Gundred Princess of, Gundred, Gundred, Adela Princess of, Anna, Adele Beauclerc, Maud Margaret Princess of and Gundred Princess Of.  He died on April 17th, 1113 in England.

‌the Elder and Adeliza (Adeline) were married in a religious ceremony about 1071.  They had a son and a daughter, named William and Adelise.
