Maud (Matilda) of Savoy was born about 1125 in , Chambery, S, France.  Maud (Matilda) of Savoy's father was Ct. Amadeus III of Savoy and her mother was Mathildeof Vienne.  Her paternal grandparents were Ct. Humbert II of Savoy (Il grosso (the fat)) and Cts. Gisele of Bourgogne; her maternal grandparents were Ct. Guigues V of Albon and Matilda of England. She had a brother named Humbert III of Savoy.  She was the older of the two children.  She died on November 4th, 1157 in Coimbra, Portugal.

‌Maud (Matilda) of Savoy and The Conqueror were married in a religious ceremony in 1146.  They had a daughter named Urraca Alfonsez of Portugal.
