Mary E. Shields 
Mary E. was born in 1855 in Indiana. Mary E.'s father was Joseph Lindsey Shields and her mother was Eliza Jane Whitsell. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Shields and Sarah "Sally" Masterson. She had six brothers and a sister, named Charles H., Joseph Leonard, John G., James, David, George Washington and Sarah Cynthia. She was the third oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 59 on May 20th, 1914 in Monroe County, Indiana.-
