John Gordon 
John was born on August 29th, 1775 in , Halifax, North Carolina. John's father was John Gordon and his mother was Anna Haynes. His paternal grandfather was John Gordon; his maternal grandparents were Francis Bythell Haynes and Anne Bell. He had five brothers and six sisters, named James, Thomas, William, Joseph, George Haynes, Nancy Ann, Mary Margaret, Elizabeth, Lucy, Elizabeth and Sarah. He was the second oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 84 on January 24th, 1860 in , Smith, Tennessee.-
