Olive was born in 1886 in Fremantle.  Olive's father was Robert (Spinaway) Howson and her mother was Amelia (Emma) Briggs.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Howson and Jane Dankin. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Edmund, William, Henry, <Unknown>, Eva, Adeline and Gladys.  She was the fifth oldest of the eight children. She had five half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas, Urn, James, Alfred, Edward and Mary.  She died at the age of 94 on September 13th, 1980 in Mundaring, Western Australia.  She was buried in Karrakatta.
