Harold was born in 1893.  Harold's father was John (Urn) Urwin Howson and his mother was Caroline George.  His paternal grandparents were Robert (Spinaway) Howson and Jane Ann Urwin. He had four brothers and a sister, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Robert, Frederick, John, Arthur, Elsie and <Unknown>.  He was the sixth oldest of the seven children.
