Silence's father was John Howarth and her mother was Silence  Duckworth. She had four brothers and six sisters, named Dennis, Jacob, John, James, Jane, Alice, Ann, Helen, Sarah and Sarah.  Silence and Sarah were twins.  She died as an infant at 9 months old in April 1771 in Haslingden.  She was buried on April 21st, 1771 in Haslingden.¹
