Jane was born in March 1755 in Haslingden and her baptism took place there on March 22nd, 1755.1  Jane's father was John Howarth and her mother was Silence  Duckworth. She had four brothers and six sisters, named Dennis, Jacob, John, James, Alice, Ann, Helen, Silence, Sarah and Sarah.
