5 Jun 1754, John Howarth and Silence Duckworth, both of Haslingden Chapelry were married by Banns with the concent of parents.
In 1770, John was a Groom and a Yeoman at Laneside (1 month apart) when the twins Silence and Sarah died. In 1773, George son of George and Alice Howarth was also born at Laneside.

John and Silence were married in a religious ceremony on June 5th, 1754 in Haslingden. They had four sons and seven daughters, named Dennis, Jacob, John, James, Jane, Alice, Ann, Helen, Silence, Sarah and Sarah. Silence and Sarah were twins.
