Sarah was born in June 1779 in Haslingden and her baptism took place there on June 23rd, 1779.1  Sarah's father was John Howarth and her mother was Silence  Duckworth. She had four brothers and six sisters, named Dennis, Jacob, John, James, Jane, Alice, Ann, Helen, Silence and Sarah.
