Robert was born in 1796.  Robert's father was William Hodge Boalch and his mother is Phoebe Litton.  His paternal grandparents are John Boalch and Mary Hodge. He had two brothers and four sisters, named John, William, Mary, Ann, Sarah and Elizabeth.  He is the second oldest of the seven children.
