Thyra was born in 1880.  Thyra's father was Frederick_VIII and her mother was Louise of_Sweden.  Her paternal grandparents were Christian_IX and Louise of_Hesse-Cassel; her maternal grandparents were Charles_XV and Louise.  She was the sixth of eight children.  She had four brothers and three sisters, named Christian_X, Charles Haakon_VII, Harold, Gustav, Louise, Ingeborg of_Denmark and Dagmar.  She died at the age of 65 in 1945.
