Frederick_VIII was born on June 3rd, 1843 in Copenhagen,Denmark.  Frederick_VIII's father was Christian_IX and his mother was Louise of_Hesse-Cassel.  His paternal grandparents were Frederick William of_Schleswig- and Louise Caroline of_Hesse-Cassel; his maternal grandparents were William of_Hesse-Cassel and Louise Charlotte of_Denmark.  He was the oldest of six children.  He had two brothers and three sisters, named William George_I of_the_Hellenes, Valdemar, Alexandra of_Denmark "Alix", Dagmar "Marie" of_Denmark and Thyra of_Denmark.  He died at the age of 68 on May 14th, 1912 in Hamburg,Germany.  His burial was in Roskilde,Denmark.
