Christian_IX was born on April 8th, 1818 in Gottorp.  Christian_IX's father was Frederick William of_Schleswig- and his mother was Louise Caroline of_Hesse-Cassel.  His maternal grandparents were Charles of_Hesse-Cassel and Louise.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 87 on January 29th, 1906 in Amalienborg.  His burial was in Roskilde,Denmark.
