Thyra of_Denmark was born in 1853.  Thyra of_Denmark's father was Christian_IX and her mother was Louise of_Hesse-Cassel.  Her paternal grandparents were Frederick William of_Schleswig- and Louise Caroline of_Hesse-Cassel; her maternal grandparents were William of_Hesse-Cassel and Louise Charlotte of_Denmark.  She was the fifth of six children.  She had three brothers and two sisters, named Frederick_VIII, William George_I of_the_Hellenes, Valdemar, Alexandra of_Denmark "Alix" and Dagmar "Marie" of_Denmark.  She died at the age of 80 in 1933.
