Alfred was born on September 22nd, 1780 in Windsor Castle,Windsor,Berkshire,England.  Alfred's father was George_III Hanover and his mother was (Sophia) Charlotte.  His paternal grandparents were Frederick Louis Hanover and Augusta of_Saxe-Gotha; his maternal grandparents were Charles Louis Frederick and Elizabeth of_Saxe- Hildburghausen Albertin.  He was the fourteenth of fifteen children.  He had eight brothers and six sisters, named George_IV, Frederick, William_IV Henry, Edward Augustus, Ernest Augustus_I, Augustus Frederick, Adolphus of_Cambridge, Octavius, Charlotte Augusta Matilda, Augusta Sophia, Elizabeth, Mary, Sophia and Amelia.  He died at the age of 2 on August 20th, 1783 in Windsor Castle,Windsor,Berkshire,England.
