Leonard was born on November 11th, 1911 in Plymouth, Devon, England.1 Leonard's father was Albion George JENNINGS and his mother was Martha HENDRA. His paternal grandfather is Albion JENNINGS and his paternal grandmother was Sarah Ann BEER; his maternal grandparents were John HENDRA and Mary Jane ROWE. He had a brother and six sisters, named George Frederick Hendra, Ida Louise, Ivy Maud Mary, Gwendoline May, Candace Myrtle, 'Baby' and Irene Beryl. He was the youngest of the eight children. Leonard Jennings was born in Plymouth, Devon on 11 Nov 1911, the second son and last child of Albion Jennings and Martha (nee Hendra). But like three others of his siblings his life was very short. He died when barely three months old on 2 Feb 1912. It is said that because he was not christened he had to be buried in unconcecrated ground.
