Pieter was born on November 1st, 1794 in IJsselstein and his baptism took place there on November 12th, 1794.1  Pieter's father was Cornelis Otterspoor and his mother was Cornelia Hoogendoorn.  His paternal grandparents were Johannes Pieterszn Otterspoor and Willemijntje van Rooyen; his maternal grandfather was Pieter Hoogendoorn and his maternal grandmother is Sandertje Ververs. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Jan, Pieter, Cornelis, Sander, Willemijntje, Willemijntje, Pietertje and Sannetje.  He was the second oldest of the nine children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Barent Dirkje, Kaatje, Antonia and Cornelia.  He died before March 23rd, 1799.1
