Jacobus was born in April 1761 in Nootdorp and his baptism took place there on April 9th, 1761.1   His godmother was Anna Hogervorst. Jacobus' father was Justus van der Meer and his mother was Geertje Jacobsdr Hogervorst.  His paternal grandparents are Arij Joostzn van der Meer and Cornelia  Ariens dr Rotteveen; his maternal grandfather was Jacob Jacobszn Hogervorst and his maternal grandmother is Neeltje Claesdr van den Bosch. He had a brother and six sisters, named Jacobus, Kornelia, Neeltje, Christina, Marij, Maria and Ariaantje.  He was the fifth oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 28 on July 10th, 1789 in Nootdorp.2
