Dingena was born in 1765 in Loon op Zand and her baptism took place there on October 13th, 1765.1  Dingena's father was Dirk van der Leij and her mother was Dingena Hommel.  Her paternal grandparents were Wouter Goverdszn van der Leij and Dorothea Petersdr de Rooij; her maternal grandparents were Michiel Jacobszn Hommel and Jacomijna Willemsdr de Geus. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Wouter, Magiel, Peeter, Jacomijna, Doora and Jacoba.  She was the fifth oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 50 on February 17th, 1815 in Loon op Zand.2
