Theophilus was born in August 1677 and his baptism took place on August 18th, 1677 in Rijnsburg.1   His godfather was Adam Kunen and his godmother was Margriet Arentsdr van Juchen. Theophilus' father was Theophilus Copius and his mother was Elisabeth van Hoff.  His paternal grandparents were Theophilus Copius and Elisabeth Ackerman. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Karel, Maarten, Philip Willem, Philip Willem, Adam, Margriet, Elisabeth Josijn and Catharina.  He was the second oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 30 on October 21st, 1707 in Rijnsburg.1
