Ott was born in 1722 and his baptism took place on July 26th, 1722 in Haaften.1   His godmother was/is Maijken Otten. Ott's father was Steven Gompertszn Blomhert and his mother is Dirkske Otten Swakhuijs.  His paternal grandparents were Gompert Egbertszn Blomhert and Maria Koenen. He has five brothers and seven sisters, named Gompert, Ot, Egbert, Jan, Willem, Ruttje, Mariken, Ruttie, Neeltjen, Willemke, Heesken and Heesken.  He is the nineth oldest of the thirteen children.
