Ot was born in 1721 and his baptism took place on January 12th, 1712 in Haaften.1   His godmother was/is Stijntje Aelbertse. Ot's father was Steven Gompertszn Blomhert and his mother is Dirkske Otten Swakhuijs.  His paternal grandparents were Gompert Egbertszn Blomhert and Maria Koenen. He has five brothers and seven sisters, named Gompert, Ott, Egbert, Jan, Willem, Ruttje, Mariken, Ruttie, Neeltjen, Willemke, Heesken and Heesken.  He is the eighth oldest of the thirteen children.
