Sarah was born on September 27th, 1834.  Sarah's father was William Wharin and her mother is Sarah Butterworth.  Her paternal grandparents were Jarvis Wharin and Mary Barber. She had a brother and three sisters, named William, Mary, Ann and Frances.  She was the third oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 70 on February 22nd, 1905.
