Mary was born on February 24th, 1827.  Mary's father was William Wharin and her mother is Sarah Butterworth.  Her paternal grandparents were Jarvis Wharin and Mary Barber. She had a brother and three sisters, named William, Sarah, Ann and Frances.  She was the oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 23 on February 7th, 1851.
