Sarah was born in 1688 in Newton Toney, Wiltshire and her christening took place there on September 28th, 1688.1 2   Sarah's father was Benjamin Piper and her mother was Sarah Newman. She had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Benjamin, Robert, Joseph, Martha and Mary.
