Benjamin was born in 1694 in Newton Toney, Wiltshire and his christening took place there on March 6th, 1694.1 2   Benjamin's father was Benjamin Piper and his mother was Barbara Dennett.  His maternal grandparents were Johannis Dennett and Sivob Burratt. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Robert, Joseph, Martha and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the five children. He had a half-sister named Sarah.
